Introducing HMAConnect, the New Podcast of the Hawaii Medical Association

We are very excited to introduce HMAConnect, the podcast of the Hawaii Medical Association. Available on all major podcast platforms, HMAConnect will feature topics, interviews and discussions dealing with the most pressing health issues affecting our members and our community.

There are already five episodes available for download; the first is an interview with Mr. Todd Unger, Chief Experience Offcer and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Membership at the American Medical Association. Mr. Unger shares his insights on the importance of AMA, the role state and county societies play in local health issues, and how a united voice is crucial for the future of medicine.

We next partnered with the Hawaii State Rural Health Association to produce a Gubernatorial Candidate Interview series. Candidates were given the opportunity to answer questions posed by members of both organizations, providing members and the community at-large an introduction to the candidates and their positions on healthcare issues affecting physicians, patients and community health. Each episode begins with an opening statement from the candidate, followed by a question and answer section and the candidate’s closing remarks. Candidates interviewed were Dr. Josh Green, Vicky Cayetano, James “Duke” Aiona, and Heidi Tsuneyoshi. Candidates BJ Penn and Kai Kahele were also scheduled but had to cancel due to schedule conflicts.
