May 2022 President’s Message

Aloha kakou,

Can you believe it’s almost summer? The first half of 2022 has flown by, with much of our efforts concentrated on legislative issues. You’ll read about our progress in this month’s newsletter; needless to say, our legislative committee has been hard at work, fighting for the issues that mean the most to our physician community. I congratulate them on a job well done, and look forward to additional progress during the year.

As we near the second half of 2022, I want you to keep a few things in mind:

Visiting the HMA Office
Through a very generous donation, the HMA Office at 1360 South Beretania Street, Suite 200 has been renovated to be a source of pride for our membership. Its beautiful wood finishes evoke a sense of class and calm, and the addition of presentation technology makes the space extremely useful for meetings, classes, etc. There are work spaces for members to use as well as two large conference tables for more formal meetings. To schedule a visit, contact the office at 808.536.7702.

Ola Pono Ike Returns
It’s been more than three years since our last gala event. With the AMA planning their House of Delegates meeting in Hawaii, we thought it the perfect time to bring back our biggest gathering of the year.

Please save Thursday, November 10, 2022 and plan to attend Ola Pono Ike. It will be held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and promises to be a special evening. Registrations for HMA members will begin in June, with non members being able to register after August 1.

Thank you for your continued membership and dedication to our community’s health. Exciting things are happening at HMA; stay informed, stay involved, and help us make Hawaii a better and healthier place for everyone.

The Voice of One,
The Strength of Many.
