April 2022 President’s Message

It was so heartwarming to reconnect with HMA colleagues at our first annual Pa‘ina. The staff, setting and delicious food at the Oahu Country were outstanding, but it was truly the company that made the evening special.

The addition of students from JABSOM brought greater meaning; as a proud JABSOM graduate I understand the significance of being welcomed into the medical community at a young age. Watching our HMA members actively engaging in conversation with these students was a definite highlight of the evening.

More events like this are being planned. If you were unable to attend this past Pa‘ina, I encourage you to participate in future gatherings. Connecting as a community of physicians and engaging with the next generation of healthcare professionals brought a powerful energy to those attending Pa’ina. Let’s use that influx of spirit as a springboard to greater involvement, constant support of our medical students, and a renewed commitment to servicing the healthcare needs of our island home.

The Voice of One,
The Strength of Many.
